### OSHA Issues Revised Heat Hazard Enforcement Program Targeting 55 Industries

On April 10, 2026, OSHA published an updated National Emphasis Program on outdoor and indoor heat-related hazards, effective immediately and set to run for five years. The revised program adds 22 new industries to OSHA's targeted enforcement list, bringing the total to 55 high-risk industries including construction, farming, manufacturing, retail, transportation, warehousing, and restaurants. The update replaces the prior NEP that expired April 8 and includes new citation guidance in an added appendix and a structured framework for OSHA inspectors to evaluate an employer's heat illness prevention program during inspections.
